Major Progress in Prosthetics Program & Expansion Plans

Prosthetics Pilot Project Deemed Successful

During a recent trip to Ukraine, our Mission team met with Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) at the Transcarpathian Regional Clinic Hospital (TRCH) in Uzhhorod. BCM confirmed our 3D prosthetics “pilot project” has proven the concept and is ready for expansion across Ukraine.

Key Milestones:

  • First double below-knee amputee successfully fitted with 3D-printed sockets and walked for the first time since injury

TRCH clinicians now travel to Military Hospital in Mukachevo (40 km away) to scan patients on-site BCM provides bi-weekly Zoom training from Houston Significant improvements in scanning, alignment, and troubleshooting by Ukrainian team Discussions initiated with state-owned prosthetics clinic in Vinnytsia for potential expansion

New Foundation Established

Majo Humer, longtime supporter, has established “Heart & Art” foundation in Switzerland to raise additional funding for our Mission. This follows her successful non-profit work in Argentina with Corinne Hoss-Blatter.

Warsaw Programs Thriving

Art therapy classes continue at POLIN Museum with three generations of Ukrainian refugees. Lilia’s special quilting project with Ukrainian women has produced a powerful 3m x 3m memorial quilt incorporating family photographs and memories. Lilia and Leszek’s woodworking program was honored at a Warsaw district street fair.

Education Support

We provided a first-year university tuition scholarship to Rostyslav Bilyk, Ukrainian refugee and Love Does School graduate who supports his mother and two sisters while working evenings.

Trauma Care Initiative

Now supporting Courtney Adams of Radiant Hope, delivering trauma care to caregivers and teachers at Love Does School and Ukrainian orphanage in Ossa, Poland.
