Clinic Opening Imminent
After nearly 1,000 days of Russia’s invasion, we have great news: the prosthetic and rehabilitation clinic at Transcarpathian Regional Hospital (TCRH) in Uzhhorod opens next week!
The Impact
- First Patients: 10-20 below-knee amputees will receive new limbs by year’s end
Revolutionary Technology: First (or among first) 3D printers for prosthetic sockets in Ukraine Faster Production: Reduces socket manufacturing from 2 days to 4 hours Affordable: Total prosthetic cost approximately $500 per person Scalable: If pilot succeeds, will expand to dozens of printers across Ukraine Tremendous Need: BCM estimates 30,000 Ukrainians with below-knee amputations
Recent Training Success
Five TCRH clinicians completed training in Ostrava, Czech Republic at Invent Medical headquarters. BCM and Filaments Innovation led successful sessions on our 3D printer and devices.
